Altered Gift Bag

Have participated in Artz De Scrap Challenge# 3, Altered Gift Bag.

This is my take, photos are a bit blur but I'm a bit tired so did not retake, keke :P lazy... Stupid me, should have taken a photo of the original bag before altering, anyway it is originally a maroon cloured gift bag.

I've inked the gift bag with my silver ink, doodled on it and embellished it with Heidi Swapp flower, Prima Flowers, & acrylic hearts & flowers. TFL!

The Wonders of a Hug

The wonders what a hug can do.
A hug can cheer you when you’re blue.
A hug can say: I love you so,
Or, I hate to see you go.

A hug is: welcome back again.
A hug can sooth a small child’s pain,
And bring a rainbow after rain.

The hug, there’s just no doubt about it,
We scarcely could survive without it.
A hug delights and warms and charms.

Hugs are great for Fathers and Mothers,
Sweet for sisters, swell for brothers.
And chances are some favorite Aunts love them more than potted plants.
Kittens crave them, puppies love them.
Heads of state are not above them.

A hug can break the language barrier,
And make the dullest day seem merrier.
No need to fret about the store of them,
The more you give, the more, there are of them.

So stretch those arms out without delay,
And give someone a hug today.

I just did it!!! I gave my mom a big hug earlier & she's wearing a bright, wide smile on her face!!! :) Come on... What are you waiting for? Give your loved ones a big bear hug!

BBQ

Went to a BBQ organized by the few Jurong Spring YEC members on yesterday. It was a small gathering and only after that then I realised, it is also indirectly celebrating for Weilun's house moving.

For the 1st time in life, I ate very little in a BBQ... 1/3 plate of fried beehoon, 1 tou po, 1 BBQ chicken wing, 1 BBQ drunken prawn, 4 sticks of satay, 1 hotdog, and 1-1/3 chocolate banana, 3 melted cheese shitake mushrooms & 4 BBQ marshmallows & 2 mouthful of BBQ sambal seafood.

Did I purposely eat very little, meant to be part of my dieting plan? Or had I lost appetite due to... This, I had no answer...

Anyway, it was a cozy, small gathering, meeting up with a nos. of them whom I've not met for as long as almost 2yrs. Glad that I make my way there to catch up with these friends... :)

Sorry, no photos coz I went for a class earlier and things are bulky so did not bring along my camera.

Shopping Mood

Was with great shopping mood yesterday and went shopping in Bugis area and bought a nos. of apparels, keke :P

Bought 4 apparels in exact, with total value of $101.33, this is comparably low compared to most friends' shopping budget, as I'm thrifty by nature & not really willing to splurge on apparels except occasional super high shopping spirits which is seldom. Most often , window shopping is sufficient to make my shopping therapy. Me only willing to spend on watches, music, crafts & my loved ones (that will include my family & friends).A pair of no brand crop jeans @ $13.90, bought at those cheap apparel concept store.

A pair of springleaft short jeans @ $19.00, bought at BHG. Before, was $49.00, after sale $19.00, good buy right? A pair of similar jeans at this fashion will cost around $30+ under the brand C.O.A.X. Short jeans? Are you surprise, haha, this short jeans not so short lah, the usual length of what I wear at home, my thighs are too fat, cannot fit in hot pants style, I know my limits ok?

A blouse from Muji, I used to admire Muji apparel but don't feel like spending coz their apparel are usually on the higher end, usually $69.00 & above. But looking Muji sale at up to 50%, I'm tempted to take a peep & ended up walking out Muji with this simple blouse of acrylic & wool material which is surprisingly below $20.00. Was $39.00, after 50% off - $19.50. Actually has taken a fancy over a new arrival blouse at $49.00, but too bad, my preferred colour do not have the available size in store, hmm... let me think about it, if I still miss the blouse, maybe I should check out the paragon outlet, coz afterall, new arrival do not have discount...
A 2pcs set of blouse from BHG imported Japanese brand apparel, 90ans quatre vin dixans. 2pcs set with 4 matching ways so it's like a 4-in-1 with various style - Japanese Street wear style, Country style & Casual Style. Was $69.00, after 30% off - $48.93. Price is still a bit steep, but is quite worth it, especially the materials are quite comfortable to wear...

Excuse me, how much do you weigh?

I guess most ladies will be much sensitive when being asked such question. Especially gals like me, who obviously, am on the heavier side.

However, should you weigh this little? Would you still mind disclosing? I guess I still will... With such minimal weight, I guess it probably scared people to death, won't you? For sure, I am, I happy to reduce weight but not to this extend!!!

FYI, I'm still alive & still with heavy weight, this weighing ticket is probably due to some reading error machine... hope is not due to me too heavy that the weighing machine cant read it? Of coz not! I'm heavy, but not to the extend! lol...

Fortune of the day

Today's prediction:
English Version:
Your hard work will soon be awarded!
Hmm... is it true? Will I be awarded? Only you can answer me... I jolly hope that this prediction will come true soon. Friends, give me your blessing bah... lol...
I guess anyone who receive this prediction will be overjoyed, won't you?

Random Rattling - 21 February

Talking about 21st Feb, can you still recall what you are doing on this day 4 yrs ago? I was actually at Night Safari with my angel pals, enjoying a good deal from the Jurong Spring CC's activity. It was a social event at a great price where we get to visit night Safari on the tram, with McDonald Meal included & a heart shaped cushion for the female participants & a chance to make new friends. Really miss their events and hope they will be coming up with new activties soon... My YEC friends out there, did you hear me?

With the ice-breaking session, we get to make some new friends and there after some of us stayed in contact and continued to go in group outings. Today, some of the group were attached, but sad to sad, none with those who met in the Safari. Anyway, my dear friends who are still alone, don't be discouraged, someday, somehow, you will get to meet the correct person at the correct time... Always remember to treasure when he/she comes along...

This year, this day, I went to Changi General Hospital for Barium Swallow test and busy catching up office work from home though I'm official on leave. Coz I have no wish for work to pile up on tomorrow and struggle like dog...

And tonight, my dearest Futjisu Lifebook almost give way after 3yrs+ of companionship!!! What happened exactly? I guess it's probably due to wear & tear, part of the joint of the LCD screen to the keyboard (body) of the has broken. The crack has occurred some time ago and I started to see more cracks... For now, I just wish that it can stay in shape as long as possible as I'm rather happy with it's performance although it's considered much over-aged and behind times? But who cares! It function well enough for me to do my work, this is good enough! My dear Fujitsu, I will not give up on you so easily, till death do us apart...

Happy Yuan Xiao Festival! 元宵节快乐!

祝大家元宵节快乐!但愿有情人终成眷属,单身的朋友早日找到另一半…

Happy Valentine's Again!!! Today is the oriental Valentine's Day, wishing all a fabulous day with your loved ones & may those friends who are still single, find their partner soon, muacks!

How's your Valentine?

Hi Friends, how are your Valentine's Day? Hope you had a great day with your loved ones, be it your lover, family or friends...

So, did you receive any gifts for Valentine? Here's what I received on 14th Feb itself...
2 months supply of medicine... and no more further claims for medical bills in Year 2008 :(

But luckily, these came in time to perk my day...

And there should be more on their way to my letterbox :)  These lovely Valentine's Day Cards are from my Swap-Bot Partners.

Hmm, like Lia, I'm guilty of making cards for some of the friends but missed out for the closest group... These are for SL & CH, met up with SL on 15th Feb & had a great chat... Too bad CH had another gathering so she did not turn up.
But, I do love my angel pals... Not in time to make Valentine Card for them, but I've prepare some small gift in advance for their Valentine Gifts... And blur me, missed out to pass Lilian's one to her on 17th Feb, no choice, can only pass her on next gathering...

Oh Shucks, I left out my dearest Ong Susu!!! Hmm... dearie, I'll make up to you ok? But I better hush hush... It is suppose to be a surprise for ya :P

Fortune of the Day

This may serve as a personal reminder to myself.  Maybe it's time to slow down and be more attentive to my loves ones around...  I think I've been spending too much time online trying to make my online selling a success and have neglected them much :(

Chinese New Year Eve 2008

6 Feb is the eve of CNY, so are you working on this day? I actually got the day off and so I decide to have a R&R day. The day begins with final packing of my wardrobe, and then followed by watching TV programms.
Then the busy part came in during later in the late afternoon

Shredding of Carrot, Green Carrot & radish for the Yu Sheng... in return, I got itchiness, guess the hands are agitated by the "juices" of the radish?

Then mama realised she left out the cucumber & lettuce, so continued with shredding the cuicing of lettuce... Can you guess which is which? Going clockwise direction: Carrot, green carrot, radish, lettuce & finally cucumber...

End product is as below, with the additional garnish purchased from the supermarket...
After adding in the "Keropok", minced peanuts & sesama & sauces...

This is not all, slicing of canned abalone... Before & after as below. Look! The knife is blunt so you can see that the cutting are not smooth at all... ok, I need to confess my slicing skill isn;t too fantastic either... :P

Some dishes that we have for dinner...
Deep fried fish in Thai Sweet & Spicy Sauce.

Stir fried prawns in dark soya sauce

Steamed Chicken
Sliced abalone with Spinach

Ended the day's chores with washing up the dishes, basic and finally soaking the table clothes in hot soapy water...
Oh yes, this special day is my dearest Ong Susu's big day, I missed out to sms her in time, just wanna let you know my dear, I've not forgotten your big day... Happy Birthday!!! Wishing you many happy returns, good health & a good year ahead. Hugz & Kisses...

A R&R Day

Today is a R&R day for me, no busy working on my swapping stuff, just relaxed a bit and catch up the Korean VCD that my mom's friend had lent to us...

Then pick up the missed out items from Sharon and proceed to shopping.

Went to orchard area jalan jalan, as usual, super crowded and it became worse when it started drizzling, starting to feel like sardine packed in the crowd.

Drop by Made with Love (MWL) as well. Surprisingly, today I saw few of ladies patrons, instead, there are crowds of guys in the shop. Hmm... what are they doing there? Some of them went alone, while others had friend to accompany them, busy browsing through the samples showcased in the shop and busying planning on the colour coordinations of the PP (Patterned Papers) & embellishments. Guess they must be busy planning making a Valentine's Day gift for their GF, so sweet of them. Their partners will sure be touched by their sweet guesture, not matter how the end product turn up...

This reminds me of an incident recently, my guy colleague lands into a quarrel with his girlfriend as she has been continuously "complaining" & pestering him for not giving her some hand-made stuff. He told her off by telling her, "you can test my patient, but do not go overboard!" This is too hurting... Girls can actually be very easily contented, not all gals need big 1-carat diamond and luxury car to travel around. A small little sweet surprise, even if it's something not worth much, can easily brighten her day.

So guys, what are you waiting for? The day is near, do come up with some small little surprises, I guess your gal will be touched to hug & kiss you, XOXO.... lol....
