The Top Influential Brands and Winners at Influential Brands 2017
The 5th edition of 2017 CEO Asia Conference by Influential Brands, culminated in the presentation of Asia’s most-coveted “Top CEO of the Year”, “Top Influential Brands”, “Outstanding Brands”, “Influential Artist of the Year” and “Influential Woman of the Year” Awards, attracted some 400 prominent C-suite executives across the regions from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and China, with Mr Teo Ser Luck, Member of Parliament, gracing the event as the Guest of Honour.
Among the 6 Top CEO Awardees, 3 are Singaporeans! These business leaders, of diverse sectors from the consumer industry, have not only demonstrated their capacity to lead their organisations but also their ability to understand clearly what consumers expect from them. Chow Tai Fook is a prominent leader in China and Hong Kong, Thai Beverage is a market leader in Thailand and in the region, NTUC FairPrice is a dominant player in the grocery sector in Singapore, Success Resources is the global market leader in people development, Hatten Land is a developer with an award- winning portfolio of integrated residential, hotel and commercial developments in Melaka and finally, ONE Championship has expanded to become the Asia’s largest Martial Arts Event Company.
The brands selected as “Top Influential Brands” awards, are based on more than five years of consumer insights and surveys covering five Asian countries and more than 5,000 participants from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. There are total 33 winners awarded the “Top Influential Brands”.
Old Chang Kee has entered the Influential Brands “Hall of Fame”, being the winner for Influential Brands “Top Influential Brands” for five consecutive years, a brand that appeals to all consumers of all generations. At the same time, its sister brand, Curry Times, is also honoured as an "Outstanding Brand".
Besides the “Top Influential Brands” awards, there are also the “Outstanding Brands” awards that are created to identify, feature and celebrate brands that have shown resilience and growth in changing times. The brand must not only be noteworthy in its own category, industry or domain but also show significant growth in revenue year-on-year for at least the past 2 years.
Two new individual awards were also introduced this year., with Mr Iskandar Jalil, Singapore’s renowned potter, winning the inaugural “Influential Artist of the Year” award; and Ms Christine Tan, the anchor for CNBC “Managing Asia” programme, winnning the inaugural “Influential Woman of the Year” award.
The birth of “Influential Artist of the Year” award hopes to encourage talented and fervid artists to champion arts through their zeal and relentless of pursuit of excellence in their work. On the other hand, the “Influential Woman of the Year” award is in recognition of the awardee's exemplary achievements in 3 areas: influence, business leadership and personal branding.
