RWS Street Eats Showdown 2017 at Malaysian Food Street
Kicking off the inaugural RWS Street Eats, two accomplished RWS chefs have thrown down the gauntlet and challenged two renowned experts in cooking a better version of their famous national dishes!
Chef Lorenz Hoja from L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon (Two Michelin Stars) will challenge Thai Chef Aom Pongmorn in cooking the best Phad Thai while Chef Benjamin Halat from CURATE will challenge Vietnamese Chef Steven Long to whip up the most amazing Vietnamese Grilled Pork with Rice Noodles!

From 12 to 20 August, feast on authentic Southeast Asian delicacies from 20 renowned stalls specially chosen from Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore at RWS Street Eats. Housed under one roof at the popular Malaysian Food Street, look forward to Restoran Damodaran Nair from Pahang, Malaysia, famous for its Sempalit Curry Chicken made from a 60 years old secret recipe; Nona Manis from Indonesia which will be dishing up their traditional East Javanese style Ayam Penyet (Smashed Fried Chicken with Sambal); Nhā Hāng Viet from Ho Chi Minh City whose full-bodied Pho Bo (Vietnamese Beef Noodles) recipe comes from Chef Đỗ Quang Long of Iron Chef Vietnam fame; Foon Ta Lop from Bangkok’s Chatuchak Market known for its “to die for” Papaya Salad and Thai Fried Chicken; as well as Singapore’s very own Kway Guan Huat Hokkien Popiah praised for its handmade paper-thin popiah skin.
Purchase an Event Special bundle of 8 Event Food Vouchers (Each worth S$4) and get 1 Complimentary can of Coca-Cola® (with an option to top up S$4 for a Tiger Beer), plus Gift Vouchers from Naiise, OSIM and SodaStream worth more than S$40.
Patronizers can kick back and relax at the Beer Garden with Tiger Beer and Strongbow Ciders, while enjoying live music performances and open mic sessions on weekend evenings. Too Much Drama, who is one of the resident bands at Switch by Timbre, will be performing from 6:30pm onwards!
There will also be Pop-up Booths like COCOLOCO, Four Seasons Durians, Durian 36, ecoWARE where you can further indulge. However, note that Event Food Vouchers are not accepted at the pop-up booths.
