Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, which is established since 12 October 2002. The Esplanade has been a iconic landmark, be it locally or internationally. Apart from her unique architectural cladding design, that is said to have a resemblance to either a durian (a tropical fruit) or the eyes of a fly; she is well established as a performing arts centre, where both ticketed and free art performances are available throughout the year.

Having had more than 31,000 performances and 22 million arts goers that frequent the venue, the Esplanade has recently launched the Esplanade&Me Programme in July, hoping to bring arts closer to the masses, and to engage with the art lovers.

The Esplanade&Me is not just simply a card for arts lovers, but rather, a special pass to experience the arts, to go behind the scenes and be entertained, but also for the Esplanade to get to know you better - to be engaged with you.
Together with several other bloggers, we get to experience for ourselves, some of the activities of which the Esplanade&Me programme members can look forward to.
We had a tour around the Esplanade Theatre and Esplanade Concert Hall, guided by Joy, whom is a customer service there. We get to learn about why the horseshoe design of the Esplanade Theatre and how the design of the concert hall ensure a good surround sound which that audience can enjoy acoustic music at its best.

Followed by the curated tour, is casual dining at Past 2 Present, #02-14, which serves Italian and Singaporean cuisine, as well as fusion dishes like the Italian Ba Chor Mee or Chicken in Masala Wine. Members of Esplanade&Me program get to enjoy savings for limited periods at selected outlets in the Esplanade Mall, by showing their cards; be it for dining or shopping!

We then proceed to the concert of Indonesia alternate rock band, NOAH. Despite not understanding what they are singing, I have enjoyed myself very much, as the saying goes, music has no boundary.

Followed by a rocking hard concert, there was a Meet and Greet session with NOAH, which is exclusive to Esplanade&Me cardholders and limited to eighty Category One ticket holders of this concert. Audience who get to attend the post-show Meet and Greet had the chance to get up-close with the artistes. Beside, they also receive a poster that was specially printed for this concert, to be autographed by the members of NOAH. What a treat to the fans!
