The Fray to headline 2013 Singapore Guinness Arthur’s Day
Singapore, 31st July 2013 - GUINNESS® today unveiled Guinness Arthur’s Day concert on 27th September 2013 with The Fray performing, and promised to provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience for fans and consumers. This is set to be the biggest Arthur’s Day with celebration taking place in over 55 countries around the world, with more than 1.5 million Guinness fans and music lovers.
Unlike most music events, tickets to this year’s Arthur’s Day concert will not be available for sale. With only 1,759 tickets available for grabs, fans and consumers will have to earn their coveted passes by stepping up to the challenge through three ‘Acts of Boldness’ activations around Singapore in August which will be revealed on Guinness’ Facebook page.
GUINNESS Singapore only revealed the venue for the ultimate Arthur’s Day concert will be held in an air-conditioned setup with amazing views of the luminous cityscape during night time, which will be an experience like none other. Aside from this, a Singapore-centered GUINNESS Heritage Collection will be exhibited, allowing concert-goers to go through the selection of memorabilia showcases GUINNESS’ 144-year long legacy in the country.
In support of of live music in Singapore, GUINNESS Singapore came up with a brilliant line-up of local bands vying for a spot to ‘Play on the Day’ and open for The Fray at Guinness Arthur’s Day, which promises to be a remarkable experience for the emerging talents as they share the stage with industry veterans.
Local bands (with all members aged 18 and above) are invited to submit a YouTube video link of themselves performing, in a private message to the GUINNESS Singapore Facebook page by 17 August 2013. Shortlisted bands will go through rounds of battle at four locations around the island, from 7pm to 9pm on below dates and eventually, the winner will be picked by The Fray after finalists are whittled down by a judging panel and a public vote:

* 27 August 2013, Timbre @ Gillman (9A Lock Road, Gillman Barracks, Singapore 108926)
* 3 September 2013, Timbre @ The Substation (45 Armenian Street, Singapore 179936)
* 10 September 2013, Timbre @ The Arts House (1 Old Parliament Lane #01-04, Singapore 179429)

All competing bands will receive tickets to the concert, and the top performer from each venue will win a cash prize of S$1,000 while the winning band will receive an additional S$2,000, and open for one of the biggest bands this decade!
