Chinese New Year Eve 2008

6 Feb is the eve of CNY, so are you working on this day? I actually got the day off and so I decide to have a R&R day. The day begins with final packing of my wardrobe, and then followed by watching TV programms.
Then the busy part came in during later in the late afternoon

Shredding of Carrot, Green Carrot & radish for the Yu Sheng... in return, I got itchiness, guess the hands are agitated by the "juices" of the radish?

Then mama realised she left out the cucumber & lettuce, so continued with shredding the cuicing of lettuce... Can you guess which is which? Going clockwise direction: Carrot, green carrot, radish, lettuce & finally cucumber...

End product is as below, with the additional garnish purchased from the supermarket...
After adding in the "Keropok", minced peanuts & sesama & sauces...

This is not all, slicing of canned abalone... Before & after as below. Look! The knife is blunt so you can see that the cutting are not smooth at all... ok, I need to confess my slicing skill isn;t too fantastic either... :P

Some dishes that we have for dinner...
Deep fried fish in Thai Sweet & Spicy Sauce.

Stir fried prawns in dark soya sauce

Steamed Chicken
Sliced abalone with Spinach

Ended the day's chores with washing up the dishes, basic and finally soaking the table clothes in hot soapy water...
Oh yes, this special day is my dearest Ong Susu's big day, I missed out to sms her in time, just wanna let you know my dear, I've not forgotten your big day... Happy Birthday!!! Wishing you many happy returns, good health & a good year ahead. Hugz & Kisses...
