Internationally Renowned Pianist-Composer Yiruma First Solo Concert in Singapore
Internationally renowned Pianist-composer from South Korea, Yiruma 이루마 (李闰珉) will be making his first appearance in Singapore at The Star Theatre @ The Star Performing Arts Centre for one night only, on 5th April 2014 (Sat), 8:00pm.
Yiruma started playing piano at the age of five and moved to London in year 1988 when he was eleven. He graduated from Purcell Specialist Music School (London) in July 1997, then then completed a Composition major from the prestigious King's College London in 2000. He was also the first Korean artist to receive an invitation to perform at the 2002 MIDEM in Cannes, France.
His most famous pieces are "River Flows in You", "Kiss the Rain" and "Love Me". And for the Korean drama lovers, most of you would be familiar with the theme pieces for OST of popular K-dramas like Secret Garden and Spring Waltz, which are composed by Yiruma. He also collaborated with various popular K-Pop Stars, like Baek Ji-Young ("I Hate It"), SHINee ("Selene 6.23"), Ailee ("Higher) and 2AM ("One Spring Day").
Yiruma's music is popular among classical lovers, piano students, and even many listeners who are not familiar with classical music. His melodies are also well loved by the Christian community; one of his renowned compositions being, "Lord...Hold My Hand".
